About Wil

Wil Spencer grew up on a family farm in northern Minnesota where, in his early years, he enjoyed a traditional farm lifestyle. However, when his family sold the farm and continued to work under new corporate owners, things changed.

As industrialized techniques were put in place, Wil witnessed the effects on people’s health. With the presence of chemicals in nearly every aspect of the new farming methods, he became very sick — he was overweight, developed more than 70 allergies, and was prescribed 7 pharmaceutical drugs as a child.

Seeing the connection between external chemicals and illness, Wil dedicated himself to natural methods of healthcare and wellness. He trained in herbology under Native Americans and experimented with the impacts of herbs and wild foods on his own body.

He saw the power of natural remedies when his asthma and chronic bronchitis were miraculously cured with an herbal tea, and was inspired to become a master herbalist. He then traveled all over the world learning 14 different holistic approaches, including endorphin therapy, reiki and photonic therapy.

When he was in a serious car accident, being hit by a semi-truck on the highway, his interest in natural healing transitioned to encompass the electrical part of the body. He learned how the brain and body functions work together.

For the last 27 years, Wil has educated and guided people to achieve vibrant health and to take control of their own health, including through his virtual clinic, the The Body Electrician. Wil's approach to sustaining vibrant health is based on a paradigm of dietary lifestyle along with nature-based supplements.

Wil is a licensed member of the Professional Wellness Alliance and enjoys the best legal defense possible for his holistic services.

Why did you join the PWA?

I was frustrated that my holistic training and education was considered "non-accredited." Despite having helped so many people, I knew that the laws were changing in this field and I needed more protection. I also wanted to gain credibility for my clients.

Looking for security, I discovered the Professional Wellness Alliance, and I knew it was exactly what I needed. I have now been licensed with them for more than 10 years and have never had a problem.

How has being PWA-licensed helped you in your holistic business?

Being licensed with the PWA gives me peace of mind and confidence as a holistic practitioner. It means that someone is there for me — I have a support system and a legal team.

Knowing I am protected, I no longer live in fear. Now, my voice can be a little louder as I work to reach and serve my clients.
